Since 1968, the cuisine at Hotel Birkenhof has stood for craftsmanship, passion and genuine hospitality. Head chef Stephan Grauel brings decades of experience and a love of classic recipes to the table. His daughter Clarissa, who has worked in renowned establishments such as the “Ente” in Wiesbaden (1 Michelin star) and with Viktoria Fuchs in Spielweg, adds modern, creative impulses to the kitchen.
Together they combine French and Italian sophistication with Hessian specialties – from sourdough bread to homemade ice cream, almost everything is made by hand.
The cuisine at Birkenhof tells stories: from local game with hand-scraped spaetzle, to freshly caught trout on spinach leaves, to ricotta tortellini with chanterelles and herb beurre blanc. Regionally rooted, internationally inspired – the result is a cuisine that surprises and remains in your memory. We are also happy to prepare gluten-free, lactose-free or vegan dishes on request.
Our restaurant is open for you from Monday to Saturday from 17:30 to 21:00. On Sundays we only welcome our hotel guests from 18:00 to 20:00.

A relaxing break in the Spessart includes a hearty breakfast as well as the picturesque forests. At the Hotel Birkenhof, guests and visitors can expect a varied buffet with homemade bread, fresh jams, regional sausage and cheese specialties as well as warm egg dishes.

Particularly popular: our in-house ice cream van “Claris Carrettino“which serves weddings or summer parties in the Spessart with culinary delights. Hosts benefit from individual support – from menu selection to implementation. Thanks to the direct connection to the A66, guests can also reach us quickly and easily from Frankfurt, Fulda or Hanau – and enjoy a break from everyday life at the Birkenhof.
